I made it safely back to Iowa -- Dale and Leslie and I had a fun drive here, with an exciting adventure of running out of gas thrown in. We needed something to keep us awake through all those miles of "corn, corn, corn..." I crashed at Mahaffys for an evening and then unpacked into my room at Warners. It's fun to be back -- so nice to see friends and "family" again, fun to taste the college atmosphere again. I feel so out of it though! I get tired at 9:00 at night, I hardly know anyone on campus anymore, and I actually am looking forward to writing my paper (only because I got to choose the topic though! ;-)). I'm not a true-blue college student anymore. Oh, did I mention I'm also loving being back in a small town. I know where everything is, the traffic is slow enough that I can actually cross the highway, and people say hi to me as I bike along the road. Hallelujah, sanity still exists somewhere! ;-D
I'm quite busy, trying to catch up with a few of the people around here, organizing/planning/packing for New Mexico, going to workshops every afternoon, getting fingerprinted at the police station, going to the eye doctor and shoe store (otherwise known as Wal Mart), visiting the friendly bankers, etc. Eventually I'll get to the afore-mentioned paper, along with one other one that doesn't promise to be quite as fun. Sigh.
If you want to pray, you could pray that my cold/allergies get better, that I get enough rest, and that my priorities for this week in Iowa match up with God's! And you could pray for safe travel to Zuni, leaving Friday evening on the bus and arriving sometime around 9:00 on Saturday.
Thanks much! Love you!
