I just had vacation. It was five days long but three of those days I worked.
July 4th: went to the parade. Got sunburned on my left side.
July 5th: tried to climb a mountain near Bonners Ferry. Ran out of time to get to the top. Gorgeous scenery -- rows and rows of mountains stretching to the horizon; trees left over from a forest fire jutting up white and clean in the middle of huge wildflower meadows -- reminding how God can bring beauty from ashes. Got sunburned on my right side.
July 6th: went to work with Dad's big hat to keep my ears from sunburning more, and a shortsleeved shirt to protect my shoulders. Met the family at the lake for swimming after the hottest day ever at work. Seriously, I was soaked through even before I hit the water.
July 7th: came home from work early because I almost threw up on a co-worker. I hate sickness. Thankfully it was perfectly natural and short-lived. With my dad, took my sister to the airport. Ran into an old friend from Spokane... who knew. Small world.
July 8th: tried not to be grumpy because I was working on Sunday. Had a good talk with Mom and listened to eyewitness accounts of the D-Day invasion with Dad and the boys. Almost went to bed at 8:00 but then woke up again. So here I am. This is officially the last day of vacation because Dad starts work again tomorrow. It was a great time. :-D And now I get to start packing again!
