I saw the first snow today! Apologies for the poor composition of this picture - I was too lazy to put on shoes so I could step out the door.
Kid Logic:
We made a big deal about the secret ballot system at school during this election season. So of course I would not tell my students for whom I voted. This morning:
"Miss Lynch, since the election is over, NOW will you tell us who you voted for?"
(Laughing) "No, I can still decide to keep it a secret."
The students talked for a few minutes among themselves, then returned triumphantly.
"WE KNOW who you voted for! Barack Obama won, right? So you voted for him!"
The effort to explain the theoretical possibility that although Obama won, a few people in the United States may have voted for McCain fell on deaf ears.
Busyness:
We are getting ready to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of our school. This means that we have lots of visitors coming from far-away places like Michigan. It also means that we have had music rehearsals every day this week. Still another result is that I need to make sure my classroom looks perfect by tomorrow evening. That means I need to finish a bulletin board and clean up the piles that always accumulate behind my desk. The final result of the 100th Anniversary? Stress. But that's not the way it should be - this is a celebration of God's faithfulness. Please pray that His goodness will be seen by our guests, especially by the students and their parents... and if us teachers see it in amazing new ways this weekend too, that would be a wonderful bonus.
