For first day of spring (back in March) we went up to Priest Lake and waded. It required lots of running to stay warmer than a block of ice -- but was very fun!

That's my cool brother next to me. He can keep his balance even when he's not in wide stance position. ;-)

Last Sunday we had a team-building exercise for the Mexico mission trip. We are a group almost entirely made up of leaders, which is to be expected but can cause slight problems in working together! We learned about which ways each person likes to be involved in decisions, so now we can take care of each other better.

On another note, last week our group went to the Union Gospel Mission to serve dinner to the homeless people as well as the men and women who are going through their year-long rehabilitation programs. It was so neat to see people that God was working through! One guy with red hair sticking up from his high coat collar told us excitedly that he had found Christ three days ago. We rejoiced with him for as long as we could hold onto his plate of spaghetti -- then he moved on. :-D I stayed for the worship service after the meal and that was pretty neat. The people all stopped and prayed for the victims' families and friends at Virginia Tech. I was touched that people in so much personal pain could reach out to care for others. The pastor gave an altar call at the end of the sermon and the whole stage was lined with people coming up for prayer. "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners" (Mark 2:17). Why do so many home missions projects miss this verse and go to the rich who don't think they need a doctor?

God has now provided a bit more than half of the support I need in order to go! Hooray!
